About Us

How it Started

Our passion for antique tractors started several years ago with a restoration of a 1939 Case D (and didn’t stop there!). It soon became apparent that almost all parts suppliers for antique tractor parts were located in the United States. This means the cost of ordering the necessary parts for many projects also comes with the high cost of international shipping, importing and exchange rates. We were determined to find a solution to provide Canadians access to the parts they need at an affordable cost. South Prairie Tractor is committed to offering our customers the best parts for the best price!

Cost Savings

We’re local! Buying your antique tractor parts from South Prairie tractor saves you money! These are some of the typical charges you can expect when purchasing from an international vendor in a foreign currency.

  • Inflated Shipping Costs: When your package needs to cross the border, vendors and couriers charge more for shipping. South Prairie Tractor bulk imports all shipments, reducing costs and saving you money.
  • Foreign Exchange Fee: Daily exchange rate + 3% (ex. USD/CAD $1.36 x 3% = $1.40). This is charged by your bank or credit card company. All South Prairie Tractor invoices are in Canadian Dollars, with no exchange fees.
  • GST (and PST): Many Canadian customers forget that international vendors do not charge GST (or PST), these are collected when your items cross the border. International couriers will invoice you for taxes and duties paid upon delivery. South Prairie Tractor charges GST (and PST) up front without any fees.
  • Brokerage Charges: Charges for preparing a customs declaration, usually a minimum of $25 and sometimes upwards of $100 depending on the value and contents of the shipment. South Prairie Tractor includes all costs in our shipping fee. No hidden costs.
  • Disbursement Fees: International couriers charge a fee for paying applicable taxes and duties on your behalf. Because South Prairie Tractor charges GST (and PST) up front, your will not be charged any additional fees.
With South Prairie Tractor, your costs are known upfront! There are no hidden costs or additional invoices!
